Mountain View Computers Company Profile
Mountain View Computers(MVC) is owned and operated by Patrick Haugh. Founded in 1989 in Hyde Park, Vermont, as the result of an internship project during my junior year of college. I was assigned to assist the System One Sales(SOS) company in organizing their customer information system and providing basic desktop support to their user base of ten people. During the time I spent at System One Sales I developed a proprietary system to help them record and estimate kWh usage at large dairy creameries and feed mills through out the states of Vermont and Up-State NY.
System One Sales was developing and marketing power conditioning units that would decrease the electrical usage at facilities that used in excess of 100,000 kWh per month. The issue they were having, was how to prove to the customer that they were actually saving energy. The mill's production schedule would vary, days in the month would vary, and other environmental factor such as weather would have a dramatic impact on electrical usage. This was far too many variables to just plot out some numbers on a graph and show a decrease in usage. It just so happens, that the semester earlier I enrolled in an advanced statistics class. This would prove to be the starting point for what today is Mountain View Computers.
Using a mathematical method know as Multiple Regression Analysis I was able compile data from many variables and determine a baseline for a facilities electrical usage. From that baseline I created a formula, weighting each variable, to predict future usage. At that point we could tell the customer what next months kWh usage would be after they provided us with the information to plug in to the equation. The equation proved to be within .5% accurate.
This base point became the vital way to determine what reduction in electrical usage would occur once SOS installed their conditioning units. I continued to work as a consultant for SOS thru the summer and eventually sold them the rights to the formulas, equations and reporting templates and moved back into the Management information Systems market.
Today, 17 years later, we have successfully installed and maintained dozens of MIS application all across the United States. Working as consultants to larger companies or as independent contractors to our customers. The nature of the work has evolved to web based systems and websites, although we still get the chance to write desktop applications too. Our websites take full advantage of my in-depth knowledge of data design, management and retrieval providing our web sites customers with the most advanced technology available.
Currently headquartered in Heber City, Utah, MVC is actively developing real estate and resort based web sites that rank among the most popular sites in their area. Hotels, Inns, Realtors and others have seen the benefits of our designs and the technology that stands behind them.

Mission: Create a real estate listings website
MVC designed and implemented an elegant design with outstanding functionality. All of the listings information and content data are managed via a database and administrators area on the web site. The customers has control over all aspects of the site including featured listings, slideshows, video tours and more.
We also integrated an MLS solution such that you will never know that you are viewing information on another site, thus keeping the visitor at the customer's web site and increasing the chances of a property sale.
